A friendly reminder

From my dear old Uncle Sam. An ominous envelope with "1040-ES" printed on the front arrived in today's mail. I sent a tax payment in yesterday, and I know it was a bit behind schedule, but I knew there's no way to get something returned so fast. Turns out, it wasn't related to /that/ package. Just a reminder from the Treasury Department that I may want to pay estimated taxes this year. They even sent me prefilled payment vouchers with envelopes (stamp still needed, though). How thoughtful. More importantly, though: nothing threatening in the envelope. whew.

ugh, my left forearm hurts. It's much happier if I rotate it to be palm face up, or slightly farther out to the left than face up. Guess typing tonight will have to be brief. Also have an early ("early") meeting tomorrow.

Work held a party this evening and I got a glow-in-the-dark bendy thing. I happened to be in the rigth place at the right time to get one; only about 1 in 40 people or so got one. It's silly, I know, but: I felt very proud of my glow-in-the-dark bendy thing. If I _hadn't_ have gotten one, I know that I'd have had a tiny dark cloud over my head showering me with jealously of the few people who were sporting their glow sticks. I mean, it's not like it's a great prize or anything, but it's sorta odd how something amusing to a child could make such the difference in an evening for me. Simple pleasures for simple minds, I guess.

I chatted with an intern at work this evening, whose name I thought was Alexey. But, then, /another/ intern I know at work I thought was Alexey. Shoot, so, what was this one's name? Turns out, they're both Alexeys. I should just assume all interns are named Alexey until proven otherwise.
