When shopping for food I avoid three ingredients: corn syrup (especially high fructose corn syrup), cottonseed oil, and MSG. My dad avoids these last two as well, which makes for slim pickings in the cookie aisle at Larry's (a modest non-chain grocery store) in Seattle. At Piazza's here in Mountain View (well, they're in Palo Alto), though, there's plenty of selection. So, at the store this evening I bought 5 different packages of cookies. I especially like soft cookies, which usually are made with cottonseed oil. Not so for the mini chocolate chip cookies from Fabe's bakery. Mmm, these are a winner.
I also bought a single, small pink lady apple. Gotta eat healthy, you know. I didn't need to buy several apples because I already know I like pink lady variety; I had to sample the cookies to find a winner among them.
