We had the gnocci special appetizer, in a brown butter sage sauce, which is delightfully rich, and two entres: a crusted pasta casserole in a truffle saurce, and the fish of the day, sole. The casserole was tasty but would have been better with some meat or other protein. The sole was very good. Dessert was at the same level of excellence - a canoli and a lemon tart - but not best-of-class.
Would we go back? Probably not. It was very nice Italian food but it's distant from both SF and MV and I'm sure there's someplace better closer to either of our endpoints. If you're in Burlingame, dressed up to the 9s (or at least the 7s or 8s) and want a great dining experience, you should definitely look up Stella Alpina.
