Farmers market; Monet; fire
Saturday was a full day. I drove up to San Francisco and walked through the Ferry Building Marketplace
and Farmers' market
until around 1p. It was a nice day so I headed over to Grand View Park
to take in the sights of the city. It actually was still cloudy over the parts west of the park but it made for some pretty cool looking scenes, of the clouds rolling over the houses and disappearing.
After Grand View Park I visited the Legion of Honor
and walked through their Monet in Normandy
exhibit. The paintings were fantastic, especially what Monet does with light and clouds. I walked through most of the rest of the Legion of Honor as well but the Monet exhibition is clearly the highlight. There was also a wedding party having their photos taken at the Legion of Honor.
I found Mel's Drive-in diner in the Marina district for dinner and headed across the Bay to Oakland by 7p. There I joined tigupine
for the Crucible's Fire Arts Festival
. I and Ian pedalled and rode the Cyclefuge
, we both watched lots of fire be created and controlled, but Ian took the cake by playing Dance Dance Immolation
. And he was great at it! Pictures and movies of this feat coming soon.
A great day overall. A few more little stories to add to my collection.
