Steamed rice is one of the easiest things to prepare. So, I don't really understand why I burned it. Rice, water, in a pot, apply heat, wait. Just like the package said. *shrug* I'm presently laying the blame on the pot lid. It doesn't fit tightly, so it leaked steam the entire time. I think the rice burned because it ran dry. Alternatively, perhaps I let it stay at a boil for too long (I let it get to a good rolling boil before I turned the heat down). Hm. In any event, my friend rice turned into, well, a mostly rice-free stir fry (I managed to save about a half a cup of cooked rice). On the plus side, I managed to cook two frozen chicken breasts without personal injury.
