Twice in the last week I've received e-mail spam from companies I bought something from. I _know_ that I explicitly did _not_ check the box that said "e-mail me your weekly specials", yet my account settings in their systems apparently show something else. My question for the universe is, why do they do that? I'll admit that I'm, maybe, only 98% certain I checked or cleared all the checkboxes I needed to turn off unwanted messages. But, this has happened more than once to me. Why do companies feel that a single purchase is also my invitation to them to send me a steady drizzle of solicitations?
